Refuge Britain: Stories of Émigré Designers

Commercial artists Tibor Reich, Elisabeth Tomalin and Hans Schleger had two things in common: they all arrived in the UK as refugees from Nazi Europe, and they all revolutionised British design, introducing modern (and modernist) concepts and practices in graphic (Schleger) and textile (Tomalin and Reich) designs. This fascinating documentary, featuring the artists’ children and grandchildren (including Thomas Heatherwick), celebrates their unique contribution, and that of immigrants as a whole.
