'It's okay to enjoy being Jewish and to have fun with it'. Jalda says 'But getting there was tough'. The Artists Jalda Rebling an Anna Adam live in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. They are the ' first generation after', daughters of Mothers who survived Auschwitz. That deeply influenced their lives and their feelings towards being Jewish. when they met in the 1990s, they both felt at a bottom point in their lives, Together the couple started a long and strenuous search for a joyful and creative approach to being Jewish. 'Jalda and Anna. First Generation after' is a portrait of two women, who today live self-conscious, proud and Jewish in Germany, who keep (re-)creating their own space in society in a humorous yet determined way.
