When Israel Went Out

From 1983-1985 thousands of Falasha Jews marched nearly 200 kilometers from Gondar in Ethiopia to the Sudanese border, hoping to reach Israel. In November 2009, a camera-crew followed a group of eight Israelis for eleven arduous walking days. Three of these were Ethiopian Jews who had marched 25 years earlier. The film is dedicated to those who did not survive the journey.
