Tango, A Story With Jews

When Jews fled Russia and found safe haven in Buenos Aires in the late 19th century, they brought klezmer music along with them. Its lyrical, sinuous sounds worked their way into the local traditions, contributing to the emergence of tango. This unexpected connection fuels this engaging documentary, which uses family stories and seductive historic recordings to tell the little-known account of cultural and artistic fusion. Directed by Gabriel Pomeraniec.
