Polish Bar

The wayward son of an Orthodox Jewish family struggles against the underbelly of Chicago life in POLISH BAR, a gritty indie drama starring Boardwalk Empire’s Vincent Piazza. Reuben spends his nights spinning discs at a local strip club and selling drugs with smalltime Polish gangsters. He keeps up appearances by freelancing at his uncle’s (Oscar nominee Judd Hirsch) jewelry shop, but dreams of making it big as a nightclub DJ. In a world of sex and violence, he encounters socially marginal Ebony (Golden Brooks), a beautiful, troubled stripper who is plagued by a desperate combination of financial pressure and self-delusion while caring for a younger brother. A visit from his Hasidic cousin Moises causes Reuben to question his own actions as conflicting obligations of family, greed and faith conspire against him.
