Leonard Cohen: Bird on a Wire

Recently, some unique archive material surfaced from oblivion: 38 years old, backstage and concert film never seen before of the living music legend, Leonard Cohen, with fascinating close-ups from 1972 when Cohen gave concerts in 20 big cities in Europe og Israel. The director, Tony Palmer, introduces the film by describing his many years doing research and creating this work, which is perhaps the most important film about the master. We meet a movingly sensitive, 37-year-old Leonard Cohen, and priceless pieces are added to the portrait of the superb artist we know from his most recent world tours.
