Thank God for Football

Thank God for Football is a documentary on football and football players in the Terezín ghetto in 1943 – 1944. A documentary on those who played and loved football even while at death’s door and the faith and hope that they received from the game. A documentary on those for whom football meant life. A documentary on the fact that football is one of the biggest peaceful arts of a human. The players and spectators of those football matches in the Terezín ghetto appear in the film: Arnošt Lustig, Tommy Karas, Toman Brod, Bedřich Korn, Miloš Dobrý, Felix Kolmer, Tomáš Kosta, Petr Eben. The documentary was made by the Editorial Department of Sports at Czech TV as a contribution to the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II.
