Oh, What a Mess

a multi-generational family comedy that looks at stereotypes and offers a refreshing portrait of contemporary Jewish life in Berlin and the ongoing issues that exist in cross-cultural marriage and relationships. This comedy of manners turns on Jil, a 30-something Jewish tax accountant in contemporary Berlin, who falls for Mark, a Christian landscape architect. When Jil brings Mark home for Shabbat dinner, she urges him to pretend to be Jewish, and he passes with flying colors. One thing leads to another until Mark’s cover is blown. Her close Orthodox Jewish family wishes her married but forbids her to marry a non-Jew. Jil must make a decision about her future with Mark.
