The Idealist

A very personal, poetic look at Lova Eliav, one of the giants who pioneered the state of Israel. In 1967 Eliav seemed a sure candidate for Prime minister. Yet his decision to call upon a two states solution for both Israelis and Palestinians was made at a time when such an idea was considered heresy. While Ariel Sharon and Shimon Peres were shaping the face of the country, Eliav remained in political exile in his own back yard.
