If my admittedly flawed math skills are correct, the San Diego Jewish Film Festival is the longest running event of its kind in our fair region. Programmed and operated by the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture, the 26th annual event will take place at various area theaters including the Reading Cinemas Town Square and Arclight Cinemas.

The Jewish Film Festival has some winners
Remember, Natasha, Projections of America, Dealing With the Devil

Normally it takes eight to ten films to find the three or four needed to pad a film festival overview, but this year’s San Diego Jewish Film Festival hit me with four winners right out of the gate!

    Jewish films a growing force

The San Diego Jewish Film Festival will celebrate its 26th anniversary Thursday, beginning an 11-day event that continues through Feb. 14. The festival has grown significantly over the years, and this year’s event is made up of 46 feature films and 48 shorts from 13 countries, which will be presented in five venues throughout San Diego County.

There aren’t many US cities that can successfully host a ten-day film festival spotlighting the Jewish community, let alone keep it going for over two decades. San Diego is a happy exception, as the San Diego Jewish Film Festival, now running through February 14th for its 26th year, proves.
